Now is the time to shop for all of your back to school supplies, almost every store has a sale going on. If you need the basics like notebooks and pens then check out your local drugstore. If you’re unsure what supplies are needed, you can always contact the teacher and see what they recommend.

Going away to college? Bed Bath & Beyond created handy checklists to make sure you get the essentials for going away, whether you’ll be staying in a dorm or an apartment, which you can download here. (You can check out Bed, Bath & Beyond at 620 6th Avenue or online.)

If you need to get textbooks you should buy them as soon as possible to make sure you get good prices. If you’re buying them online, you want to make sure you get them in time for class. Check out your local bookstores like  for used books if you need to save money. One great local bookstore to checkout is Shakespeare & Co. Booksellers at 137 East 23rd Street where they sell and rent textbooks. Also check out websites like CampusBookRentals or CampusBooks.

Always remember to ask about student specials. Many places offer a discount for students with an id. Check out Campus Clipper for some great student offers.

Going back to school can always be a stressful time. Take some time out from the day to relax and collect your thoughts. Working out is a great way to relieve some stress but sometimes there isn’t the time to head to the gym or go out for a run. Luckily, there’s an app for that! Sworkit is free app where you choose the length of your workout and what type of workout you’d like and you receive a custom workout based on what you picked. You can choose from 5 minutes to an hour and choose workouts like cardio or yoga. Sworkit is available for Android and Apple.

It’s always good to get out and have some fun too!
